Accessibility Statement

Hello, I’m Jamie from Garage Door Guys. I’ve been repairing and replacing garage doors across Australia since 2015. Part of my job is not only fixing doors but also making sure that every customer can easily use our services, both online and in person.

This Accessibility Statement explains how we provide equal access to information and support for everyone, including people with disabilities. Our aim is to create a simple, inclusive, and accessible online space where every visitor feels supported.

Commitment to Accessibility

At Garage Door Guys, we are dedicated to giving all Australians a fair go when it comes to accessibility. Our website and services are built with the idea that everyone deserves equal access, regardless of ability.

I will always strive to make our information clear, our services easy to use, and our team ready to assist whenever needed. Accessibility is part of our values and the way we serve our community.

Accessibility Standards and Compliance

We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which sets out how websites can be more usable for people with different abilities.  Our commitment also aligns with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. While some areas may need continued improvement, I will keep working to reach higher standards.

Our goal is to keep this website compatible with major browsers, mobile devices, and assistive technologies like screen readers.

Measures to Support Accessibility

To support accessibility, we’ve introduced practical steps into our work. These include using descriptive alt text for images, clear labels for links and forms, and strong colour contrast for readability. Our website is built with responsive design, so it works across phones, tablets, and computers.

We also provide keyboard navigation for those who can’t use a mouse, and readable fonts with resizable text. Our staff receive training about accessibility, and we check our site regularly for improvements. By making these efforts, we want all visitors to have a fair and simple experience on our website.

Accessibility Features Available on the Website

We’ve included a variety of features to make our website easier to use for everyone:

Keyboard Friendly Navigation: All pages can be browsed without a mouse by using standard keyboard keys.

Assistive Technology Support: Content is structured with headings and labels so screen readers can interpret it correctly.

Alternative Text: Images include descriptive alt text so their meaning is clear to those who cannot see visuals.

Flexible Text and Fonts: Visitors can resize text for comfort and readability.

Colour Contrast: Clear contrast between text and backgrounds helps those with vision difficulties.

Consistent Layout: Pages follow the same structure, making navigation simple and predictable.

Limitations and Alternatives

Although we work hard to provide full accessibility, some parts of our site may not yet be perfect. For example, older PDF files or some third party content may not always meet the same standards.

In such cases, we are happy to provide the information in another format if requested. If a customer has trouble filling in a form online, they can simply call us, and we’ll arrange another way to share the required details.

Ongoing Efforts and Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing journey, not something that happens once and stops. We regularly test our website with modern browsers and assistive technologies to find areas for improvement.

Our team continues to update content and structure to meet new accessibility guidelines. By treating accessibility as a long term commitment, we make sure every visitor can count on improvements over time and enjoy a reliable service experience, both online and when calling for repairs.

Accessibility of Services Beyond the Website

Our dedication to accessibility doesn’t stop at the website. When our technicians visit your property, we can adapt to specific requirements. If you have limited mobility or special needs, simply let us know during booking.

We will do our best to arrange access, communicate clearly, and deliver service that respects every customer’s individual needs and circumstances.

Feedback & Contact Information

We value your feedback on accessibility and encourage you to let us know if you face any difficulties. If you encounter barriers on our website or need information in another format, I am happy to assist. You can reach us through:
